Van der Straeten designed, together with Tilman-Fran�ois Suys (1783-1861), the Palace of the Prince of Orange, which is today’s Academy Palace in Brussels. He avoided the severity of his Orangery and gave the fa�ade, with its distinctively projecting corners, colossal Ionic pilasters based on the model of Palladio.
