Pierre Cottart (Cottard) is principally remembered for one building, the H�tel Amelot de Bisseuil, the mansion of the Maître des Requêtes, Amelot de Bisseuil, at 47 Rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris, now known as the H�tel des Ambassadeurs de Hollande. Here the decoration, both internal and external, rather than any skill in planning, is the most striking feature. The house presents to the street one of the finest of Parisian porte-coch�re (a covered entrance large enough for vehicles to pass through), and within it has a richly decorated and painted gallery, now restored. In the second court are the remains of a painted false perspective.
