Castell dels Tres Dragons: general view

The “Castell dels Tres Dragons” (“Castle of the three dragons”) was built as the Caf�-Restaurant, part of the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exposition. This building demonstrates two of Dom�nech i Montaner’s signature qualities: his rationalist concern and his predilection for brick. After the exhibition, it was here that he and some other artists set up a workshop for architecture-related arts in line with the Modernist ideal of artistic integration.

From 1920 to 2010, this building housed the Barcelona Zoology Museum.
